Random thoughts

A list of random thoughts:

1. LUKE COMES HOME IN 2 DAYS!!!!
2. My camera is dead, the charger is also coming home in two days, I will then take pictures of my finished classroom and post. ( It turned out really cute )
3. I have seriously the cutest dog in the entire world. I sat down on the couch to blog and she could have chosen to do anything that she wanted and she decided to come and curl up right next to me and of course fall asleep with her face on my laptop. Priceless. :)
4. I wish that pizza were a health food because I would eat it like everyday if I could.
5. I know I married my soulmate because his favorite food is pizza too! I mean c'mon the kid ate it almost everyday for ummmm 19 years or so?
6. I have been deep cleaning my house the past week and it looks fabulous!
7. I am really scared/nervous/excited to be a teacher in just over 2 weeks. I hope I am a good teacher!

And as of right now that is all.

Crafty Saturday

Now my student's don't have to waste time sharpening pencils during the day!

My cute bead jar for my management plan! Gotta love positive reinforcements!

The frog I got for my birthday for my classroom! Thanks grandpa and grandma
I am so excited to set up my classroom on Tuesday! Mom and I spent the day making a few things to make my classroom extra cute. Love is in the Details!

While I was gone

While I was gone my Mom finished the quilt we have been working on the last few months. It turned out so cute. It was such a fun project to work on together. Thanks Mom!

San Francisco

On Sunday we got up and had breakfast at Yum Yums. It is a local donut shop in San Jose that Luke found. It was really good. Luke, of course had to get the giant donut that they make. I chose to get the baby size ones.

YUM!

Luke and I had a relaxing morning and just hung out at home together. Later that afternoon we went to the new Ernst and Young office. EY just moved to this office last Monday. This is the home office where Luke goes when he is not working on an engagement with a client. The office is in Redwood City. It seriously smells so good there. I could not get over it! Every time I would get out of the car I said it smells like trees!! (hence it is named after redwood trees)

If you look really close, this is Luke in front of the new EY building

After we visited the EY office, Luke and I got talking about how much we loved the area we were in. We decided to continue our search for a place to live next summer. We didn't have to look very far! We fell in love with an apartment complex right across the road from the EY building (great commute, right??). It is right by a nature preservation so there are a ton of trails to go hike and ride bikes.

And the garage
We are really excited about the place we found and the area. We hope that all of our plans work out!

After we looked at apartments we went to San Francisco. I have never been in San Fran before, and lets just say the hills  and I do not get along very well. It really freaked me out when all I could see were buildings. I am used the the space in Utah! The first place we went was Fisherman's Wharf for seafood. I had clam chowder and I give you once guess what Luke had...yup you guessed right, pepperoni pizza, so much for seafood, lol. After dinner we walked around the wharf for a little while, and then we walked to Ghirdadelli Square.
The craziest street sign ever. How do they drive in SF?

A little later I got the crazy idea to look up the Full House house and go and take pictures of it. Thank goodness for our smart phones! We googled, and GPSed our way there! We had to drive around 3 times to get a decent picture and the third time Bob Saget came out! Just Kidding! But the people who lived there did come out! It was super awkward but I bet they get it all the time. They have to living in a famous place like that! The best part of the whole experience was Luke and I singing the Full House theme song as we drove. Good times babe!

A drive by shot of the house
After we went the Full House house we decided to go to visit the Golden Gate Bridge. It was so cold and Luke and I were in short sleeves and shorts while everyone else was bundled up for winter! It was really neat to see the Bridge up close.

Another great day in Cali, and my last :( Oh well I had to go home so Luke could get back to work and come home in 2 weeks!!

California Mid-State Fair

Last week I was lucky enough to get to go and visit Luke in California. It was such a great trip (way too short, but great)! As of today we only have 2 more weeks apart until, as he says, "Superman Returns August 13, 2011". I am so excited to see him, this has seriously been the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I didn't think it would effect me as much as it has but what can I say, Luke is the peanut butter to my PB&J, without him, all I have is a soggy sandwich. So on my second to last Saturday until my BFF is back I will spend the evening reflecting on our amazing weekend together.

My plane landed in San Jose on Friday around 1:00. Luke was at work until 5:00 so I had to take a cab ride from the airport to his apartment. I was a little nervous about this just because I have never taken a cab by myself in a city that I have absolutely no idea where anything is located. Lucky for me, my cab driver had a G.P.S so we were able to find the apartment no problem (by the way, cabs are so expensive!!!!) After I got settled in, I went into the kitchen and found a cute note from Luke telling me that there was lunch and at least a weekends supply of diet coke in the fridge. He also made sure that I had plenty of my new T.V. obsession (F.R.I.E.N.D.S) to watch until he got home.....4 1/2 hours later :(.
The time went surprisingly fast, and was very productive, lol, I managed to finish season 1 of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

I was so excited to see Luke when he got home, not because it had been a month since I had seen him but because I could finally go see the seventh Harry Potter!!!!!! JK JK JK I was more excited to see Luke, no Harry, no Luke, no Harry, no Luke yeah for sure Luke! Luke changed out of his work clothes and we went to Olive Garden for dinner. It was so great to catch up with him for real and not on SKYPE. After dinner we bummed around the mall until the movie started. It was such a great date night even if Luke didn't enjoy Harry as much as I did. Now, I will not spend much time on this subject but something has to be said about it. The epilogue in Harry Potter was RIDICULOUS. I literally laughed out loud in the theater when I saw how horribly they aged the main characters. They should have just left that part out if they were not going to do it right. But alas the end of the Harry Potter movie series has come. I don't know how I will survive at Christmas without those movies to look forward too but I am sure Hollywood will find another series to make at least 8 sequels of.

The next day, Saturday already :(, Luke and I had planned to drive around the area in search of a place to live next summer. Unfortunately San Jose did not quite tickle our fancy so we decided to continue the search another day...California is way too expensive, just sayin. After that, we got ready for the day and had lunch at Boston Market, which I was thrilled about. We used to have one by my house when I was younger and I loved to eat there. After lunch we headed to Paso Robles for the California Mid-State Fair. Luke bought me tickets to the Maroon 5 concert for my birthday (my fav band) and this is where they were playing. So we hopped in the car and 3 hours later we arrived. The fair was HUGE! It was fun to walk around and look at all of the booths and food. I was convinced that Adam Lavigne was walking around the fair and we were going to run into him, and of course he was going to ask us to go on tour with him (a fantasy of mine)

Our favorite part of the fair was the most beautiful flower contest. Actually, we were rather confused/intrigued by it. How does someone decide which flower to enter? Are they growing this flower all season long, or do they just go outside the day before the competition and say I pick.....this one!
Loser Flower :(

The winning flower, we're number 1!

The Maroon 5 concert was that night, and it was great! Especially, the people watching before the concert started, even more so the drunk people watching. There were these two ladies in front of us who should have just had an IV of alcohol because it would have been more convenient with how many trips to the bar they made, and if I may say so their dancing was just great. The opening opening act was Gavin DeGraw and the opening act was Train. Train was really fun to hear but of course, Maroon 5 was the best!! :)

Us waiting for the concert to start, check out my awesome shirt!

Rock On!

Us jamming at the concert
Maroon 5, more importantly Adam Lavigne, YUM (sorry Luke)

After the concert we went home and went right to bed....NOT! We had a 3 hour drive ahead of us. We are young and crazy and can handle things like that. Nope wrong again. It was so hard to stay awake, but then again it was totally worth it. Another great day in Cali :)

St George, Girls Just Want To Have Fun 2

After we went swimming we went to lunch at Cafe Rio with my cousins who live in Cedar City. Heather was my childhood BFF and it has been forever since we have seen each other. It was so good to see her!

The whole group Rhe, Heather, Dannielle, Madison, Rylee, Heidi, Karen, Nichole and Debbie

Me & Heather. LOVE HER SO MUCH!

Debbie and Mom

BFF forever!
After lunch we went and did some serious shopping. Such a blast! Nichole and Madison got some really cute new school clothes. While Rylee, Dannielle, and I were shopping in Bohme, Nichole and Madi decided to compare loot in the middle of the store. I thought it was so cute. They got some cute clothes!
Nichole and Madi looking at their clothes :)
While we were shopping we completely lost track of time and had to rush to Tuachan with only minutes (literally 5 minutes) to spare. We even paid $5 for valet parking so we would miss any of the show! Typical us :) We saw Grease. The dancing was great! I loved it! It was just weird because it was different from the movie!

divas!

After church we all went to the temple grounds. The St. George Temple is so beautiful. I hope next time I go I can do a session, I have heard the inside is just as beautiful.

I love to see the temple, I'll go inside some day
